Need an idea for what to do with the kids on a rainy day? This pretend pizzeria kept Clara happily occupied and provided plenty of imaginative play time fun!
We had already recycled our cardboard cafe into a cardboard classroom, and now it’s been recycled yet again into a pretend pizzeria. We used a wire cooling rack for an instant oven, some paper plates, cups, straws, and cloth napkins. The felt pizza set is made by Melissa & Doug — it comes with its own pizza box and plenty of toppings!
The bears enjoyed browsing their cardboard menus, but one bear wanted to pass the time coloring. Clara was very accommodating to his request!
Then, the bears were ready to place their orders!
The pizza is prepared and baked to perfection!
Clara was hard at work plating all of those slices of delicious pizza.
Serving it up!!
Always check to make sure your customers are happy with their orders.
Have fun!!
Dear Valerie,
I don’t know about this place… the chef doesn’t wear shoes!
Love,
Mark
Great imaginative play scene! I just love how Clara was fully immersed in the play!
What a super cute idea! It looks like Clara had a ton of fun with her pizza parlor.
Thanks for this post. We haven’t done something like this in a bit and my kids would of course love it. Also it can be such a great money teaching tool. Good to be reminded to focus on fun with my kiddos for a bit. 🙂
Ps. your blog seems to have a few new looks, very nice. 🙂
I need to keep this in mind when I have two young girls at my house for a week, and no boys……… It’s gonna be so weird. I won’t know what to do!
Clara is so cute! I have always admired these boxes and the tape keeping everything so steady, it looks fabulous 🙂
Oh this is a fantastic idea! It looks like she did a fantastic job! I know R would love this as well.
Sweet! Love it!
LOVE!
What a fun pretend playtime!
