This 4th of July paper plate craft was a big hit with my kids! Not only did the kids enjoy coloring in this beautiful template from Mrs. Mactivity, but I was also able to sneak in a bit of writing practice for them over the Summer. No time to color? Use the colored version of the template instead.
To make this 4th of July paper plate craft, you will need:
- Free Printable Template (available in color or you can color your own with this black and white version.)
- 2 Paper Plates
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Paper Fastener
- Colored Pencils or Crayons
If using the black and white version, invite your child to color in the template. If you prefer to skip the coloring, print out the color version of the template instead. Next, your child can write in the spaces provided. A big thank you to Mrs. Mactivity for providing us with this festive and fun printable template! Mrs. Mactivity has tons of other 4th of July printables available on her website, as well as loads of Summer printables too. We love them all! You will definitely want to take a peek to see all the other fun printables there!!
Next, use scissors to cut along the dotted lines on each sheet.
Once all the pieces are cut out, invite your child to use a glue stick to attach Plate 1 to a paper plate. Next, attach Plate 2 to a second paper plate.
Cut out the missing quarter wedge from Plate 2.
Lastly, use a paper fastener and carefully push through the circle in the middle to attach both plates together. Now your 4th of July wheel is complete! Spin it around and reveal to your friends all the fun things you have written about the 4th of July!
