DIY Cardboard Construction Play Set

Do your kids love to play with large cardboard boxes? Do you wish you had more room to store them? Want to create a play set that allows them to build and rebuild imaginative play structures?? Then this project is for you!

To make your own cardboard construction play set, you will need a large cardboard box. Cut off all top and bottom flaps, as well as each side of the box to make several large flat pieces of cardboard.

Next, cut out notches at either end of each piece. To build structures, line up the notches however you’d like! Take them apart, and build something new again and again.

Once playtime is over, the play structures come apart and can be laid flat for easy storage.

Emily LOVED this and she built several things in one afternoon! She started with a small playhouse, then quickly took it apart to build many other interesting things.

Here’s her version of a train…

…and her personal favorite, a boat!!

The possibilities for imaginative playtime fun are virtually endless! Not bad for a large cardboard moving box.

We’ve had a lot of rain lately, but rowing a boat on the grass is a bit much!
