Easy City Scape Mural

During taping for a segment on today’s 10! Show, I had the pleasure of meeting Eren Cannata, a very talented singer/songwriter who was today’s musical guest. Eren performed his title track from his latest CD “Blame it on the City” — a fantastic song, and it was the inspiration for our lovely city scape mural!

Emily and I put the mural together using inexpensive masking tape, construction paper for buildings, and Post-It Notes of various sizes for the windows. I love how bright and colorful it looks in our living room!
Added bonus — it makes a super-fun backdrop for spontaneous jumping on the couch sessions!!

Even Clara joined in on the fun!
Thanks, Eren, for providing such great inspiration! If you haven’t seen Eren perform, you should check him out here!

  1. Dear Valerie,

This was the first thing which came to mind. Gals, if you don't remember this, just ask your husbands. They will most likely remember!

And, for good measure, "My post-it notes!!!"

  2. Raising a Happy Child says

You are such a FUN mom! Emily and Clara are so lucky to have you!

  3. An Almost Unschooling Mom says

That's a great city scape. But, wow – between the jumping on the couch, and the video game even my husband doesn't recognize, you guys have us feeling really old!

  4. Ivy/Anna says

Ok those building rock. Looks like I'll have to loosen my grip on "my post-it notes!!!"

  5. Tracey C. says

Not sure how often you guys jump on the couch, but Emily's face in BOTH pictures is PRICELESS! Such JOY!! I love it!

  6. Hmmmm…… maybe that's what we'll do for the upstairs. Love this.

  7. SO much fun! I love your mural. I have not heard of Eren; I'll check him out – thanks!

@ Lois Lane — Hee hee! The only time I let the girls jump on the couch is when I'm jumping with them. I can't let them have ALL the fun! 🙂
