Wow! I think I had just as much fun as Emily with this homemade bubble solution and bubble wand. It is quite addictive! These bubbles are HUGE and they last a long time.
To make your own mega bubble solution, you will need: 6 cups distilled water, 2 cups Joy dishwashing detergent, and 3/4 cup light corn syrup. Stir the solution gently and let sit for a couple of hours for best results. Store any leftover bubble solution in an air-tight container.
For the bubble wands, try a length of yarn tied to a wooden dowel in the shape of a large “D”. Hold by the dowel and walk slowly to form HUGE bubbles!
We have to do this. I think I will enjoy it too!
Your bubbles look great!
Where do you get distilled water?
@ Christy — It's so addicting! I kept trying to see how big I could make them. π
@ MaryAnne — You can find distilled water in the bottled water aisle of the grocery store… It costs around $0.69-$0.79 for a gallon. For us, the distilled water was key because we have very hard water.
UAOOOOO
I don't think I can find corn syrup in Italy… is there anytingh else I can use? Maybe glicerine?
bookmarking this for later. i think my gs troop will enjoy this.
@ cipi — Glycerin will work beautifully! Try just a few tablespoons instead of the light corn syrup. Homemade bubble solution works much better than the store bought kind because the bubbles you buy in the store are almost always heavily watered down.

Feel free to link to my bubble making post if you want. it has tons of alternative bubble solutions for those that can't find the ingredients listed.
Loved the pictures of your emily and the gianormous bubbles.
My middle daughter can't get enough of bubbles…I am off to get this ready for her!
@ One Pink Fish — Oh wow! Thank you so much!! I'm heading over to check it out now….
@ Sarah — Great! I'm sure she will love them!!
I also have as much fun with bubbles as most kids do!!! π
The first picture is so great! I think everybody loves bubbles π
Hey I wanted to let you know that I am linking up to you using this bubble recipe! I have made it twice. The first was not great. The second time I boiled the water (too cheap to buy distilled) and added like 1/2 cup more bubbles and it was wonderful! Oh, and we gathered sticks to make our letter “D” onto.
Thanks,
Vanessa
Thanks so much for the link, Vanessa! I really appreciate it! π
