Behold… the Power of Mod Podge!

Mod Podge is quickly becoming one of our favorite ways to re-use recyclables.

You can find Mod Podge in the glue section of any craft store, and we have found that one bottle will go a long way.
Isn’t it cute?? Emily wants to make another one to organize her paint brushes, colored pencils, crayons and other art supplies. She won’t have to twist my arm, but Mark has a bit more recycling to do. (Hee hee!)

Valerie, que es esta substancia? ya la he leído en varios blogs, es como el engrudo de hacer papel maché?

I have seen this somewhere else recently used for the same kind of thing, picnic tableware. What a great idea. That being said, I hadn't thought about the art supply caddy and I think that is an even BETTER idea! Love it and love your blog! 🙂

I haven't heard of mod podge before. Looks cool though 🙂

  4. I was at Joann's fabric tonight and was gonna grab some mod podge for a project I am doing w Lu…. being so cheap, I forgot my coupon so I am waiting to go back tomorrow! Good thing I only live acrossed the street, isn't that sad I wanna save a buck 50!

  5. @ Meninheira — Sí, es casi como una combinación de engrudo y barniz. Me parece que es perfecto para hacer papel maché!

  6. @ Sherry — That is so funny! I've done that too!! It is more expensive than regular glue, but it seems to work quite well. I'm sure one bottle will last us a long time, and we have several projects in mind for reusing some recyclables.

This is such a cute idea. Do you find the Mod Podge in any craft store?

Ooooh, pretty, and what a great organization caddy! I'll have to do this for our painting supplies – it makes so much more sense than a cardboard box.

  10. This is brilliant! I had seen something similar awhile back on Skip to My Lou, but they used the box to hold lunches for teacher appreciation day. I'd never even thought to use it for tableware, but I've been complaining for months that I need to get my hands on a cheap carry-all like this. LOVE it! Thanks for the inspiration!

We love modge podge. My daughters are using it with scrapbook paper to cover clipboards (.97 at Walmart). They are coverting the front and back and putting a decorative ribbon around the top to cover where the paper doesn't reach. These will be birthday presents for their friends. I am going to do one and use expired coupons, this will be my grocery clipboard for my list, coupons, etc.
