Recycle Craft: Play Dough Cars

You know those colorful caps that twist off of apple sauce or baby food pouches?? It seems a certain someone was guilty of holding onto them for a wee bit too long in the hopes that they would one day be used for some recycling crafty goodness. Ahem.

Anyhoo, when the kids declared that they wanted to make cars out of play dough, we knew just where the wheels for said cars would come from!! Introducing play dough sports cars — and they are oh-so-easy to make! Also?? A terrific boredom buster for those days when you just need a little something to do with the kids.

Begin by shaping the body of your car with play dough into a sort of “carrot shape”.

Next, add the wheels (this was Emily’s favorite part!!) by smashing them into the play dough.

Lastly, you may want to add a seat (also made from play dough).

Enjoy playing with your lovely play dough cars! (The caps/wheels will glide on smooth surfaces.)

Optional: make your own car engine, breaking, and/or crashing noises while playing. Vroom, vroooom, vroooooomie!!!

Have fun!!
