Hi! I’m Emily, and I’m 8 years old. Today I’m going to share with you my top 10 tips for a successful lemonade stand. It’s one of my favorite things to do in the Summer time because it’s totally awesome! Here’s what my stand usually looks like:

Lovely, isn’t it? My mommy helped me with the signs. I think she bought them at Target. I love Target!
Anyway, here are my top 10 Tips for a Successful Lemonade Stand:
1. Smile and Wave — Always look happy, especially when people drive by. It makes them want to stop and buy some lemonade.
2. Never have any boogers hanging out of your nose. Nobody likes that. Just sayin’
3. Mind Your Manners — Say Please and THANK YOU …like ALL of the time.
4. You might want to have some “extras” in your shop. Some ideas are: cookies, bubbles, candy, or other goodies. It could give you more sales or repeat customers!
5. Always do your homework first. Remember that schoolwork is very important!
6. Stay Safe — Don’t get too close to the road, and make sure there’s a trusted adult nearby at all times.
7. Wear Sunscreen — My best-selling days are usually the hottest and sunniest, so sunscreen is a MUST.
8. Wear an Apron — I always get lots of compliments on mine, and it shows people that you are ready to work!
9. Pull back your hair if you’re a girl. Lemonade should not be hairy!
10. Have lots of fun!!!!!! Don’t forget to count your money when you’re all done.

Great tips Emily! What age do you think is the best for starting a lemonade stand?
I would say 5 and up, especially if you have help from a grown up. I was 7 when I started mine last year. They are a LOT of FUN!
Great job, really great tips! I liked that your container was covered and it looks like u pour it when they pay for it, so its fresh. 🙂
How much do u like to charge?
$1, and I use big cups, or sometimes 50 cents for 1/2 a cup. 🙂

Hi Emily! What a wonderful job you’ve done! What kind of lemonade do you recommend? My sons are 7 and 10 and they’re already asking to put up a drink stand themselves! I will have to show them your ideas and as soon as it warms up I think we’ll have a one up and running! It’s still a little cold here – can you believe it snowed here yesterday (we’re in BC, Canada)!
Wow! Snow? That’s crazy!!! I had better luck selling yellow lemonade than the pink lemonade. Hope that helps! Oh, and adding some slices of lemon is a nice touch. AND some ice!

I would buy some from your stand! It looks very professional! I remember when I was a kid, we always had music playing. It was so fun! Especially when it was a little slow. I don’t have a lot of neighbors. Where could me and my kids set up a lemonade stand that would get customers?
You could try getting together with some friends who have lots of neighbors and doing a lemonade stand together with them. It might be more fun that way too! It’s always more fun to do things with friends. Make sure you share any money you make with them because that would be more fair and a nice thing to do.
Hi Emily, you write so beautifully, well done. And looks like you are a super lemonade seller too! I have just one question – what are the red, blue, yellow and purple thingys in the container on your lemonade stand? They look cute but I can’t tell what they are 🙂
They are bubbles!!!! They are mostly for kids, but anyone can buy them. One time, an adult bought one bottle of bubbles. That made me laugh! But I knew he had kids, but I think he wanted them for himself.
…You could sell half a cup of pure lemon juice, (charge more though) I love 100% pure lemon juice, some people don’t, because as you know, it’s powerfully sour, haha.

Emily, you’re a great lemonade seller and a great writer, too! When I was a kid a loooooong time ago, our freezer stopped working and a full box of popsicles was at risk. We chopped up the melting popsicles and sold slushies!
