Emily kept herself happily occupied by crafting up several rainbow necklaces using a few items from the pantry — some colored cereal, and some cotton kitchen twine. Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!
To make the beading a bit easier, I added some tape to the end of the string (almost like a shoelace). Beading is a great activity for developing fine-motor skills, and can be used to practice pattern recognition too.
So pretty!!
Dear Valerie,
That must have been a treat for the girls — we almost never have that fruity cereal in our house!
Love,
Mark
Cool! Then you can eat them while you wear them!!!
Totally! 🙂
And if you’re hungry while you’re out, it’s a quick snack 🙂
…and if you wear it in the rain while wearing a white t-shirt, free rainbow print!
Mark
Looks like fun! We haven’t done this yet, but I bet the kids would love snack necklaces 🙂
