DIY: Summer Party Invites

After the girls were in bed, I sat down with some color coding labels (one of my fave art supplies, since they are sooooo frugal) and drew up some cute watermelons!

They are so EASY to do:

  1. Cut pink color coding labels in half.
  2. Use a fine tipped green marker to draw the rind.
  3. Add some seeds with a black roller pen. Done!!

Drawing these made me smile! I thought they would make great Summer BBQ invitation postcards!

Hmm… I’m liking this watermelon theme — I bet the girls would enjoy stamping some watermelon wrapping paper tomorrow. Fun!!!

I am wondering if you have any ideas for using these labels to make birthday party invitation for my one year old coming up??

  7. Ok, you are so creative. Can you share your daily schedule with us? I'd like to know how you plan your day…like when you have breakfast, what you do after that, what do you do in the afternoon, etc.

Do you get tired in the afternoon? If so, how do you handle that? I have 2 children and one takes a nap at 1. My 5 yr. old stays with me while I take a short nap. Not sure if I'm just used to it, but I'm pretty exhausted in the afternoon and need a nap!

Thanks for sharing you amazing ideas!

@ Sue (and V.Kerr)– I've been known to sneak in a nap here and there. My girls used to sleep-in until late morning, but now Clara is usually up pretty early. Which stinks for me because I like to do most of my crafting at night. Anyway, I'm working on a FAQ page, so I'll include your question on there (I get emailed that question a lot, and it always surprises me because I think my daily schedule is incredibly boring!!)
