If you are like us, you are looking at a snowbound day and possibly disrupted Valentine’s Day parties at schools due to the snow. So, we have crafted this sandwich to add to your at home Valentine’s Day treats.
Here’s a super easy way to dress up an ordinary sandwich that’s sure to delight kids of all ages! It’s perfect for a special Valentine snack, or anytime you want to do something special just because. Really, you could make it for yourself midday for just the right pick me up! My daughter adored this so much that she insisted that I took a photo of it before she even took a first bite!
To make this special Valentine Sandwich Treat, you will need the following:
- a heart-shaped cookie cutter
- 2 slices of bread
- your choice of jelly, jam, or fruit preserves
- sprinkles! (optional, depending on who you talk to…)
Use the heart-shaped cookie cutter to make a heart cut out in the center of one slice of bread.
Spread jam or fruit preserves on one side of the other slice of bread.
Place the slice of bread with the heart cut out on top of the slice of bread with the jam. Sprinkle the inside of the heart with sprinkles. Cut off the crusts, if desired.
