After the girls were in bed, I sat down with some color coding labels (one of my fave art supplies, since they are sooooo frugal) and drew up some cute watermelons!

They are so EASY to do:

  1. Cut pink color coding labels in half.
  2. Use a fine tipped green marker to draw the rind.
  3. Add some seeds with a black roller pen. Done!!

Drawing these made me smile! I thought they would make great Summer BBQ invitation postcards!

Hmm… I’m liking this watermelon theme — I bet the girls would enjoy stamping some watermelon wrapping paper tomorrow. Fun!!!

Love it! It's great how you use these labels, we copied your father's day fish ones and they turned out great!
I am wondering if you have any ideas for using these labels to make birthday party invitation for my one year old coming up??

Ok, you are so creative. Can you share your daily schedule with us? I'd like to know how you plan your day…like when you have breakfast, what you do after that, what do you do in the afternoon, etc.

Do you get tired in the afternoon? If so, how do you handle that? I have 2 children and one takes a nap at 1. My 5 yr. old stays with me while I take a short nap. Not sure if I'm just used to it, but I'm pretty exhausted in the afternoon and need a nap!

Thanks for sharing you amazing ideas!

I love it! I was just looking at our dot stickers thinking I should come up with something with them. And then was thinking about having a watermelon playgroup. This is perfect.

@ Sue (and V.Kerr)– I've been known to sneak in a nap here and there. My girls used to sleep-in until late morning, but now Clara is usually up pretty early. Which stinks for me because I like to do most of my crafting at night. Anyway, I'm working on a FAQ page, so I'll include your question on there (I get emailed that question a lot, and it always surprises me because I think my daily schedule is incredibly boring!!)

@ Artistmama — I married him mostly for his sense of humor, but also because he can open jars and kill bugs. :-)

@ Joyful Learner — Hee hee! I was thinking now I"m going to have to host a get together soon. Seeing as how I have such cute invitations and all… ;-)

@ Deanne — They are far cheaper at a dollar store or even Target. For some reason they can cost a lot more at the office supply store..?? Have fun!! We do lots of projects with these!

@ Mom of Two — I LOVE the idea of a watermelon playgroup!! That sounds like so much fun!!
