Father’s Day Gifts Kids Can Make — Fish Card

This Father’s Day card was inspired by Mark’s fish tank! To make your own, fold a sheet of construction paper in half as shown.
I cut some blue construction paper and made waves for water on the top edge. Emily used some masking tape to adhere it to the paper.
Lookin’ good!
Next, we used color coding labels and cut them up to look like fish!
Use a marker to add the eyes (eyelashes are optional), bubbles, fins, etc. Aren’t they so cute??
Don’t forget to add a special Father’s Day message on your card to give to Dad!

So colorful, and so much fun!!

Hmmm…I think I see a Pacman Father's Day card idea in there, too.

@ An Almost Unschooling Mom — That's exactly what Emily wanted to do afterwards! She played Pacman on Google and loved it! 😉

@ Ticia — I showed her how to cut one of them, and she did all the rest!

  7. Wow, I was thinking the same thing as Ticia that Emily's fine motor skills must be superb from all the artwork and crafting.

This is an extremely cute idea.

    :D… I'm slow, I didn't even think of Pacman, but that's true!

  8. CHILDHOOD MAGIC says

    very sweet card. love it!

  9. Wonder Mom says

If we were do make a card like this, it DEFINITELY would need some green fuzz (algae)added to represent how often we DO NOT clean our fish tank…

  10. Love this idea…and I have to say…I love the picture of you jumping on the couch!

  11. Valerie @ Frugal Family Fun Blog says

@ Wonder Mom — We had an algae eater once, and I'm pretty sure it ate itself to death. Mark's pretty good about cleaning it, but it builds up soooo quickly sometimes!

  12. Valerie @ Frugal Family Fun Blog says

@ Sherri — Awww… thanks! I highly recommend jumping on the couch!! Great stress relief! 🙂

  13. @Wonder Mom — I use a razor blade to scrape off the algae every few weeks. It grows quite quickly, and my algae eater is lazy.

  14. These are the cutest ever!!! I am just getting back into the blogging thing after my break and I am so glad because we are definately making these for father's day. And by the way congrats on winning the Stonyfield contest you sooooo very much deserve it!!!!!!
