Easy Hyacinth Paintings

The hyacinths are in full bloom at our house, and to celebrate, the girls made these fun paintings using a cork as a stamp!
I drew the stem and leaves, and the girls dipped the cork in some pink paint and stamped away!
This project combined two of their favorite activities — painting and stamping!
Here’s how Emily’s turned out.
I can appreciate the “artistic license” Clara used to stamp hers.
Lots of fun!!

Hmmmm! I can take one for the team. We can drink a bottle of wine tomorrow at dinner so that the next day my daughter can do this project.

  2. An Almost Unschooling Mom says

Another excellent project! Do you come up with all this stuff – or do you have a really crafty neighbor you steal all your ideas from? Either way, this is another one I'm bookmarking – thanks.

  3. Dear Valerie,

Are you sure that Clara did not get into the wine? She will drink just about anything from a cup if you are not careful.

    Love,
    Mark

  7. those are cute! I think we have old corks layin around too!!

  8. Very cute. I knew I was saving corks for something.

  9. Valeria – Here's a little piece of ancient history – When Israel became an independent state from England, the British took all the postal equipment with them so the Israelis took wine corks and cut different designs in each, using them to post mark the mail. At least, that is what my mother-in-law told me and she went through all that turmoil.

  10. That could work for bluebonnets too. Probably much neater than my fingerprint ones.

  11. Wonder Mom says

Yes, your kiddos are, again, amazing me with their beautiful art work!

(BUT, can they SPELL Hia…Hei…Hyacinth, because I certainly cannot!)

  12. Clara's is so expressive =)

  21. These are so beautiful. I would rarely see hyacinths when we lived in MN, but here in NY everyone plants them. I can't wait to plant my own. Until then, we shall make some like yours. Thanks and Happy spring.
