We had beautiful weather this afternoon, making it the perfect day for a fun game of basketball. There were just two problems:
1. We don’t have a basketball, and
2. We don’t have a hoop.
So while our neighbor was out running errands, we snuck over to his driveway for a quick game of INVISIBLE basketball. It was so much fun! Turns out, we are all invisible basketball super-stars! Who knew??
Mark is an expert dribbler….
…. and Emily got nothin’ but net on every shot!
It was a close game!
Emily scored the game winning basket, right at the buzzer!
…and the crowd goes WILD!!
I’m thinking this has the potential to be an Olympic sport. Who’s with me?

Dear Valerie,
What did you do with my invisible basketball? I hope it's not lost, because it can be difficult to find.
Love,
Mark
p.s. Emily cheats. I clearly had the ball several times when suddenly she said that SHE had the ball.

Oh- this could actually be a sport I could play! (God didn't give me much when it comes to hand-eye coordination…)

I love it! We play "pretend Uno" and "pretend backgammon" while we eat dinner sometimes. You'd be surprised how many double 6's a 2 year old pretend rolls.

That is brilliant. I think this is better than using a visible ball and may catch on, so long as the basketball manufaturers don't intervene. Or maybe they could come out with a few different invisible balls.
Looks like you had a sunny day.

I love this. I think this is a game even my 3 year old could join in and do well in. We'll have to give it a try this afternoon. I think you may have started something here…

@ Mark — Not to worry, I'm sure your invisible basketball is "somewhere out there in that garage".
@ Infant Bibliophile — Ha!! That is so cute!!!
@ Cheryl — Good point! I didn't think about that!

Such a great idea! We have a basketball hoop, it came with the house. Unfortunately we are all such horrible players that is holds up our firewood 99.9% of the time. I think the whole family would enjoy this one. Although I think it won't be as fun as sneaking into the neighbors yard!

That was too cute!

@ Leah — If you have a hoop, you are one step closer to invisible basketball! Maybe you could start a neighborhood tournament… hee hee!
