Easy Candy Necklace Party Craft

This easy candy necklace party craft is fun for kids to make while letting them create their own party favors to take home! This would also be a great project for a rainy day, or anytime you are in need of some colorful crafty fun. My kids (ages 9 and 13) enjoyed making a few of these candy necklaces to give to friends too! This candy necklace party craft is designed for older kids. With very young children, use caution when crafting with string, yarn needles, or small bits of candy.

Materials Needed:

To begin, thread the yarn needle with butcher’s twine and tie a knot on the end of the string. Set it aside.

Next, invite your child to use the plastic knife to carefully cut the candy straws into segments that are roughly an inch long. To keep the pieces organized, they may want to sort the pieces into small cups.

Once the candy straws are cut into candy beads, it is time to thread the necklace. Use the threaded needle thru each candy bead, guiding the beads down to the end of the string.

My kids loved trying out different patterns, but they especially loved creating rainbow necklaces! I love how bright and cheerful they look! Once the candy necklace is long enough, tie the two ends together. Wear your candy necklace proudly, or have party guests place their completed necklaces into a plastic zipper bag to take home.

Have fun!!
