Wondering what to do with the kids indoors this Winter? Looking for a few creative ideas to keep from going stir crazy? Need a fun to way get into the Christmas spirit?? Welcome to Santa’s Workshop!!
Our elves have been very hard at work. With a few of the toys we already had on-hand, some some leftover pieces of wrapping paper and ribbon, we put together a festive little activity to spark plenty of imaginative playtime fun!
Those large “candy canes” are just pieces of wrapping paper rolled up and wrapped in cellophane. They were a big hit with the elves! The lovely firetruck is from the Melissa & Doug Whittle World
There is so much to do in Santa’s Workshop — it feels as if the work never ends! First, the elves need to (pretend to) build the toys.
Then, the toys need to be painted, of course. We used our invisible paint.
Once the “paint” is dry, it’s time to wrap the toys!
Don’t forget to make the candy canes (with pipe cleaners).
…and build the (cardboard) gingerbread houses! You can make your own from an empty cereal box with the help of the free template available here.
You just might get a call from Santa on his direct line. He likes to make sure that the naughty and nice lists are kept up-to-date!
Update the lists, and then it’s time to start building more toys over and over again. Oh, I think Santa’s going to be very pleased with his elves’ hard work this year, don’t you??
Have fun!!
