Here is a cute Spring craft for the kids to make — a 5 little duck play set as inspired by the upcoming book Red Ted Art: Cute and Easy Crafts for Kids
Maggy’s book provides plenty of inspiring project ideas using common household items, recyclable materials, or items found in nature. And they are adorable!!
Emily and Clara have been spending lots of time flipping through the Red Ted Art book
Once Clara laid eyes on the 5 little ducks project, she just had to make it! It is such a cute project to do with the kids around Easter time or during Spring break. We started by gathering up some stones from our yard, and washing them in warm soapy water.
She loved this part, and spent a long time carefully washing each stone!
Once the stones were completely dry, it was time to paint them! We used acrylic paint, as recommended in the book, so the paint would not rub off — five yellow ducklings and one white mama duck. Quack, quack!!
Once the paint was completely dried, we added eyes and a beak using markers. So cute! Then, it was time to play!! Maggy’s book even has the lyrics to the song “5 Little Ducks”, which Clara now sings over and over again. Here’s a little video of the song:
Great frugal fun, and just in time for Spring!
Have fun!!
