Tutorial — Crayon Wallet
The girls are really enjoying their crayon wallets, and here they are drawing with them when we went to visit Mark to have lunch at his office the other day. We’ve been taking them with us on car trips, or any time we are waiting at a restaurant or doctor’s office.
Here’s how to make a crayon wallet of your own (or for a fabulous gift!):
Begin with a 9″ x 12″ piece of felt and cut exactly in half as shown. Place a 24″ piece of ribbon along the center and pin in place.
Sew along both edges of the ribbon with a zig zag stitch.
Next, cut out a piece of felt 3 1/2 ” by 6″ and pin as shown. I leave a little room on the one edge to allow for stretching.
Begin at the center and sew straight to the edge. Sew along the three outer edges and then sew two more seams in the middle to make four pockets for the crayons.
Next, cut a 2 1/2″ by 3 1/2″ piece of felt and pin on the other side of the wallet as shown. Sew this as you would a pocket for the memo pad. I found memo pads for $0.25 at a party store and they worked beautifully.
Fill with crayons and your memo pad, and you’re done!
