Audacity — Create Your Own Audio Books on CD
This past Christmas, my mother-in-law made a fabulous set of audio book recordings on CD for Emily. I consider these priceless heirloom gifts. Emily calls the CDs “Grandma Music”. Char choose three or four bedtime story books and recorded herself reading them using a program called Audacity. You can download Audacity for free by clicking here. Using a headset or microphone, you can record yourself reading books (or singing, or whatever) and save it as an .mp3 which can later be burned to CD. What I love the most about these very personal audio books is that Grandma left little messages for Emily such as “Goodnight, Emily, I love you.” Very sweet! Since Christmas, Grandma has even emailed another .mp3 file which Mark burned onto CD.
