Comments

  1. I remember getting the large box of 64 crayons. I loved the sharpener in the back of the box.

  2. I had a booklet by Crayola that listed many different ways to color–holding 2 crayons together to make a double line, coloring with different textures (for instance, burlap) underneath the paper, twisting the wrong end of the crayon to make dots. . . . I tried them all. 🙂

  3. I remember melting crayola crayons in muffin tins, in the oven, colors mix, to make larger crayons. It was fun.

  4. as a kid i loved getting a brand new box of the 64 pack of crayons and organizing them by color. i loved the smell of new crayons!

  5. The giant box of crayons with the sharpener built in to the box. The way, when snapped the little spots in the box which held the lid together, and opened the box the crayons were all crisp and flat across the top. And the smell. There’s still something about a new box of crayons that soothes my soul.

  6. My favorite memory was just reading all the names of the colors in the crayon box. I was fascinated by the name of the color, Sienna.

  7. Oh, yes, the box of 64 crayons with the sharpener on the back. I always had to put them in rainbow order 🙂 I think my favorite Crayola memory, though, has to be doing fall suncatchers by putting fall leaves and crayons shavings between 2 sheets of wax paper and melting them together with the iron.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  8. My favorite memory from Crayola is using the crayons to color in the books that I wrote as a kid!

  9. There’s nothing that compared to opening the new box I would get just before Christmas with a new Christmas coloring book. My cousin and I use to pick 3 colors each and color whole pictures in those 3 colors. LOL…the memories. Then we would argue over whose was better—never arguing that our own was the best–it was always ‘yours is better’!

  10. Susan Christy says

Oh, I was going to say what Kathy said! When we visited our grandparents, they always had a new box of crayons and a coloring book for each of us.

  11. The smell when you first opened a new box of crayons!

  12. all my crayola and macaroni art was very much displayed and liked by my grandmother. My mother is deceased but i know my daughter would have gotten the same kind of affection from my mother.

  13. I remember spending hours coloring & creating with colored pencils – those were always my favorite Crayola product, even over crayons

  14. My favorite Crayola memory is of the colors red orange and burnt Siena.

  18. I remember coloring with my friends with Crayola as a child and loving the Robin’s Egg Blue color.

  19. I was always very particular about my crayons staying sharp and would color very gently to keep them nice as long as possible. Consequently I would get very mad when my older sister would color too aggressively with them. This has been a metaphor for how she I approach life as well!

  20. i used to scribble with crayons on paper – prior to knowing how to write – thinking it looked like amazing cursive. thanks for the chance to win!

  21. I remember having our babysitter come over when I was about 8 and she taught me how to color in her special way. She would take our Crayola crayons and outline the character in the picture with a heavy hand, and the she would simply shade in the character with the same color. I still do this method with my children 22 years later!

  22. I also remember melting Crayola crayons to make bigger, rainbow crayons!

  23. Liz LaBombard says

I just remember looking forward to that brand new, shiny box of crayons ( that I had no intention of sharing ) and loving the smell of them- At the age of 42, though, not so fond of the smell anymore ( dare I say that it almost turns my stomach ), however, I do still get that heart-stopping pain in my chest when one of those colorful, perfect box of crayons gets demolished before I can even get both of my little angels back in the car ( and I don’t mean just one crayon, I literally mean a whole box )!!

  24. My favorite memory was using Crayola in my coloring books.

  37. As a child I was in and out of the hospital a lot with epilepsy related illnesses.
Once when I was five I had to have a lot of scary test run so my dad said he would have me a surprise waiting when I was done.
When I returned he had purchased a stack of coloring books in my favorite characters and a 64 count box of crayola crayons. It was the biggest set made at that time. I was in heaven. He and I sat and colored for weeks with that set. As I was there for ten weeks that year.
