For a fun time, frame a sheet of plexiglass with duct tape to take care of any sharp edges. Go outside, and draw on the plexiglass with dry erase markers to make “enhancements” to your environment!!
In a very short time we had beautiful flowers growing out of the lawn,
backyard trees full of red ripe apples,
and exciting adventures out at sea!!
We dressed up like fairy princesses,
and made funny faces!
And we even found fun new ways to say “hello”!
You can find sheets of plexiglass at your local hardware store — an 11″ x 14″ sheet is around $4.
Have fun!!

Dear Valerie,
I must admit, Emily’s “silly face” is downright creepy.
Love,
Mark

I love the adventure at sea. I think the photos of the “enhancements” are wonderful works of art as well. This would make a great travel tool!

I happened to dig this one up from a corner in the garage. Makes me wonder what other crafty things are hiding in there…

Personally, I would have grown a tree full of candy instead of apples- you’re kiddos are so incredibly too healthy… ;0)
August 30th, 2011 on 12:00 am
HA!!! We turned some lamp posts into lollipops later, and that was LOTS of fun! Love the candy tree idea!!

This is a very entertaining idea – we have a lot of empty plastic frames that could be used for this purpose too.
August 30th, 2011 on 12:00 am
Perfect!! I bet Anna will be very creative with it too… what fun!

I love this idea and how the masking tape frames it and also takes away the sharp edges. This is one of those things that I’m sure kids can spend hours on!

Oh, how neat!! Reminds me of an episode of The Upside Down Show ( my little guy’s fave.) Definitely on the look-out for Plexiglass now! Oh, AND this one is getting “pinned”!
August 31st, 2011 on 3:56 pm
Thanks for pinning! I’ve never seen that show — sounds like I need to check it out!

Love it!!! So cute. I also pinned it. What a fun thing to really let there imaginations go crazy. I think I might try it with the girl scout troop.

We did this today and it’s so much fun. I used yellow duct tape though, I thought it would be pretty but the markers don’t quite clean up well off of it so I am probably going to cover it with black duct tape.
Also question, what brand of dry erase makers do you like? Yours seem to show up brighter than ours.
Thanks for the idea!! My daughter was thrilled
** Also my hardware store had plexiglass “scraps” that were different sizes, and I got two pieces for less than $2 each!
