How to Seduce a Man Using Bacon

Ten years ago today, I shamelessly seduced my husband Mark and tricked him into marrying me. Here’s how I did it using items I already had on-hand (super-frugal) in my tiny dorm room in college.

Step 1: Cook bacon.
Don’t let the man of your dreams get away. Be sure to keep a never-ending supply of bacon in the fridge ready at a moment’s notice.

Step 2: Show a man bacon.
Like most men, Mark was completely oblivious about my feelings for him. Once I showed him bacon, there was no mistaking my intentions.

Step 3: Let man eat bacon.
Mmmmmmm….. Bacon!
Perhaps combine with lettuce & tomato for a healthy(ish) snack.

Step 4: Marry man and make babies!!
It’s THAT simple!!

Step 5: Repeat steps 1-3 as needed.

Happy 10th Anniversary, Mark!!! Wanna make BLTs for dinner tonight??

  2. Dear Valerie,

Wait.. we’re.. we’re married? I thought that this was just some sort of bacon-for-babies deal.

    Love,
    Mark πŸ˜‰

  3. Happy Anniversary! Glad you were able to show your love through bacon πŸ˜‰

  4. Happy Anniversary from one Bucknell couple to another. πŸ˜‰

  5. LOL, Happy Anniversary!

This would work for my husband too. He loves bacon!

  6. Happy anniversary, you two…and thanks for the post–you may have saved our marriage. My hubby probably thinks I don’t love him because I refuse to buy bacon unless it’s on sale, which has led to us *gasp* running out from time to time, and having to, on occasion, *double gasp* wait weeks for the next sale.

    Happy Anniversary πŸ™‚

  18. Happy 10th Anniversary! That’s the way some girl is going to get my 15 yo one day. He says he’s not getting married, but that kid LOVES bacon. If she cooks bacon, or better yet in his mind, something with bacon, chicken, and cheese, he will be hooked for sure. lol Hope you have a super special anniversary weekend. We’ll be celebrating 20 years next week, but bacon was in no way involved. πŸ™‚

  27. Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!! We just had our 9th anniversary on May 30th; you have us beat by a year. Mmmmm…bacon. Unfortunately, my husband is a health nut and won’t touch the stuff. He will occasionally have turkey bacon, but even that is rare. Sad, right? My kids think I’m mom of the year when I make bacon though!

  28. That’s how it pretty much worked for us too. πŸ™‚ I almost bought my husband a “I LOVE BACON” t-shirt for his birthday, but couldn’t justify the cost. πŸ™‚

  29. Tomorrow is my third anniversary, how did you get the bacon to look like a bowl.

  30. Val, you forgot the tablecloth story!! You know it’s my fav. (Love this post btw!)

  31. Happy Anniversary!

And OMG my 10th anniversary was also on June 2nd! Too funny.
