Sunday Snapshot — She’s Baaacck!!

After spending a week with Grandma and Papock (and having TONS of fun), Emily is back home! Hooray!
I am blown away by the comments on yesterday’s post. I’ll be posting more info about registering for the free online sewing workshop tomorrow. YES! We are going to do this! If you always wanted to learn how to sew, but were afraid of your machine, this is the perfect workshop for you. I would love to have more people join us, so please tell your friends/blog/tweet about it and be sure to check back! It’s going to be so much fun!!

  1. I love how you pictured the return, two jumping sets of feet are too much fun!

By the way I am dying to learn more about the workshop! I fall under the afraid of my machine that I've had for four years. I was doing well working with it after the New Year but with summer have slacked off. I'd love some direction and help though. Will be looking for the post tomorrow and will be spreading the word for you:)

  2. Great photo!

I have to buy a sewing machine! When is the class going to begin and what do I need to have? I am so nervous.

Glad all of the family is back together again (and I hope you are going to frame that super-sweet pic of the two of you jumping on the bed – priceless!).

I am looking forward to your sewing tutorial. I can manage basics on my regular machine, but it's been awhile. I also have a serger that I rarely use – and could use some tips on that!

I used to make cloth diapers (when we had kids in diapers) and recently have only used my machine to make some cloth paper towels to use in the kitchen.

  4. Welcome back, Emily!

    Love the photo 🙂

  5. Great photo.

  6. LOL! Just picture perfect! You must be so thrilled to have Emily home!

  7. What a fun picture! I would really love to learn how to sew. This workshop is a great idea. I love how we can use the internet to learn all sorts of new things and that so many people are willing to share what they know.

I would love to participate, but I don't have a sewing machine right now. I want to get one for Christmas. Will the workshop be done in a way that I could save it and use it later when I do get one?

  8. @ Katie — I'm so glad you'll be joining us! It's going to be so much fun, and thanks so much for spreading the word!

@ Christy — Awww.. no reason to be nervous! (I say that, but I was really nervous too when I was first learning… the machine can be so intimidating.) Workshop starts Sept. 1st. To begin, you will need a sewing machine, scrap fabric, multipurpose thread, and some empty bobbins. I'll explain those in further detail when we start. Aren't you excited?? I know you can do this!!

  9. @ Sheena — Great question! The answer is YES!! The workshop will be done via email, so you can save the messages in a separate email folder and access them whenever you get your machine.

Also, if this first workshop is well-received, I would love to do another one after the holidays as well. I have a feeling you won't be alone in asking for a sewing machine for Christmas this year!

  10. @Mama King — Oh yes, Emily was missed so much! She spent all day getting us caught up on all the adventures she had last week. She is growing up so fast!

  11. I sew a little but would love to know more! You have a great blog!

  13. I am so excited that you'll be doing this workshop! I got a sewing machine a few months ago, but am a total novice. I'm going to tell my friends and hope to get a few additional recruits for the workshop 🙂

  14. @Karen and Jennifer — I would love to have you two join us! Thanks so much for helping to spread the word. I'm so excited about this project!
